At Pharmacycle, we understand that balancing your health with environmental responsibility can sometimes feel challenging. As women, you may need medications tailored to your specific health needs, whether it’s hormonal therapies or treatments for reproductive health. However, the packaging for these medications—especially blister packs—often creates waste that’s difficult to recycle through regular channels.

Pharmacycle is here to help! With Pharmacycle’s blister pack recycling program, you can continue managing your health while also making a positive impact on the environment. By recycling your used blister packs, you’re helping to reduce waste, conserve valuable resources, and minimise pollution—all while taking care of your personal well-being. It’s a way to align your health practices with a commitment to sustainability, showing that caring for yourself and the planet can work hand in hand.

Where to recycle blister packs during Women's Health Week?

We’ve made it easy and convenient for women across Australia to recycle blister packs. With numerous participating pharmacies nationwide, you can simply drop off your empty blister packs at a collection point next time you’re picking up your medications. The process is quick, hassle-free, and integrates seamlessly into your routine.

But what happens once the blister packs are collected?

After being collected, they’re sent to our specialised recycling facility in Sydney where the plastic and aluminium are carefully separated. The plastic is recycled into decorative fencing and decking products, while the aluminium is melted down into aluminium de-oxidant pucks, which are then used in steel manufacturing. Through this process, materials that might have otherwise ended up in landfills are given a second life, contributing to a circular economy.

At Pharmacycle, we’re proud to offer a recycling solution that helps you balance your health needs with a commitment to the environment. By making blister pack recycling accessible and easy, we’re helping you take small steps towards a healthier planet—one blister pack at a time.
